Tourist

about

I went to New York City for the first time and realized that everyone is a tourist. We're all chasing the same thing.

lyrics

V1:
The man on the bus is from Kansas
I wonder how his plans led him to this
Said he followed the folded map in his pocket
We bought one too

I’m in the veins of the city
Got caught up in its bloodstream
As I boarded a taxi
And I finally knew

C1:
Everyone’s a tourist here
I drown in cigarettes and beer
I spill my guts to sell my tears
So something left of me is here

V2:
Every cell of my hometown
All thought I would be home now
But I’m not ready to go underground
When you’re not around

C2:
Everyone’s a tourist here
I drown in cigarettes and beer
I spill my guts to sell my tears
So something left of me is here
Everyone’s a liar here
All count to 10 then disappear
I turned around to face my fears
The time you promised you’d be here

Bridge:
I want
I want my money back …..
